You want to make games. Have you decided specificly how you are going to get that job you really want?
Most video game jobs can be broken down into three
catagories -- designer, programmer, and artist -- but thats not all.
There are other jobs out there that don't even require you to be
employed by a game company. One job is a video game reviewer.
To find out what is right for you, analyze your skills you have right now.
Are you good at math? If so, then you should look
into becoming a programmer. Do you love drawing and painting? Consider
becoming a 3D artist. If you just love to play games you can start as a video game tester or game review writer.
Game designers are the top of the pyramid. Most guys
get there by first working in the industry a few years as an artist or
programmer. Many designers acutally started as low-level video game
testers.
The next step is to develop your skills and consider getting a degree (more emphasis on this if you are a programmer.)
